If your writing skills are not at the level they should be, draft your messages and let someone who is better help you polish them. The following short list of steps and tips will help you write a clear and better email message that will get the better results.
-
Use short sentences - Reword sentences that are too long into few sentences. Use a simple, active subject-verb-object sentences structure if possible.
-
Use plain language - Look for the terms that could be misleading and replace them or provide an explaination.
-
Eliminate phrases that could be interpreted as sarcastic, egocentric and so forth.
-
Use short paragraphs and skip a line between paragraphs to make the message easier to read.
-
State clearly what you want the reader to do. Answer a question? Visit a site? Or give you an opinion?
-
Use "you", "your" or the person's name.
-
Reread what you write - Always check all email addresses and website addresses. |
