This will be the second article in a series of modules intended to be read by small business owners. These modules will go through the basic steps of setting up your business online. Whether you are opening a local business, or an e-business. The internet is a powerful tool and you need to harness its power.
Now that you have your content you will be adding to your web site. It is now time to put together the graphics for your site, in many cases this is called your graphic or user interface.
Web Site Graphics
If you are a graphic designer you will probably be creating custom graphics for your web site. But as most reading this article will not be, we will discuss some easier options to build the graphic interface.
- Free Site Builder: The easiest way will be to use a free builder at companies like GoDaddy. If you are new to editing HTML, then this will probably be your best bet until you get more familiar with web site development. By doing it at your web hosting company you will not need to worry about using an ftp program to get your files on a server.
- Computer Programs:If you want to be able to have a little bit more control over your web site, but still want it to be fairly strait forward to build. Then i would suggest you use adobe Dreamweaver or Microsoft expressions.
- Hire A Developer:This option is always the easiest for someone new to launching a web site. You simply take your graphics / content, and have them assemble the site for you. Most developers are also graphic designers, and will be able to develop graphics and a logo if needed. The only downside is that web site developers will charge for their services.
In the next module we will begin to go through and set up your title tags and how to make sure they are done properly. We will also be covering how a description tag is used in your page. We will also cover the importance of a robots.txt file.
This concludes the second module; the third module will be published tomorrow, so check back soon. Or visit link at the bottom of this article, all all additional modules will be posted there first.
