Dot Tel Domains, which were launched over a year ago, enable their users to find contact information quickly. Dot Tel Domains have for a few months now been enabled for Google AdSense which is Google's advertising program for website publishers.
Implementing AdSense for these domains could not be easier. One of the great benefits of Dot Tel Domains is that they do not require hosting accounts. In fact, the only cost of these domains, if they are developed by the owner, is the annual registration fee which is between US$ 10 to US$ 20 depending on the registrar used.
These registrars offer Telhosting Panels, the management consoles, which are currently standard across all registrars of Dot Tel Domains. The Telhosting Panel is accessed either from the Dot Tel Domain itself through the Manage button found close to the Telnic logo or from the registrar's own website.
Within the Telhosting Panel there is an option at the top of the page for Settings. Click on this Settings link and one of the choices given is for Google AdSense Setup. If you click on this tab the system will ask for three pieces of information. This information includes Publisher ID and up to two Advert IDs.
If you have an AdSense account you will already have a Publisher ID. If you do not have an AdSense account you can go to their website and create one in a few minutes. You will be shown your new Publisher ID.
The Advert IDs are placed to the right of the contact records on a Dot Tel Domain. When or if you have an AdSense account log in to it, and click on the AdSense Setup tab. Click on the AdSense for Content choice and choose an Ad Unit. Text and Images is what I use, but you can choose Text Ads or Image Ads if you want them. Just follow the instructions from this point, but remember that the Dot Tel space for AdSense is 250 by 250 pixels so make sure you do not choose adverts which are bigger than this size.
Finally select a Channel. Channels are useful for separating your different Dot Tel Domains from each other for information purposes. The Channel could be the name of the domain for which you are getting AdSense. You will be issued with a Advert ID which you can find on the Manage Ads tab page. You will have to go through this process for a second time if you want a second Advert ID. But the second Advert ID can be in the same Channel name.
Under the Manage Ads link you will see Name (No. ID). The Advert ID is the number under the Channel except for the # symbol.
Once you have entered the AdSense Publisher ID and Advert ID(s) into the Google AdSense Setup choice in the Settings tab of your Telhosting Panel, the AdSense will propagate to your domain quickly in usually less than an hour. Every page of your domain will have AdSense on it based on the keywords on each of your domain's pages.
And that is all there is to getting AdSense!
The potential earnings of your AdSense ads will depend on your traffic, the types of people going to your site, and how relevant the AdSense ads are to the reason that people came to your domain in the first place. For a popular Dot Tel Domain the earnings could be a few US$s per week at the most.
For example, the Aids and Autoparts Dot Tel Domains earn between one and 4 Euros a week and they rank among the most popular Dot Tel Domains.
Although this is not a lot of money, we are at the beginning of this domain's story. As traffic builds this revenue should gradually increase. However, no you should still be able to pay your annual registration fees from the AdSense at the minimum if you have a good domain.
