Internet Marketing - Getting Started
Feeling overwhelmed, excited, overawed, confused, busy, too much to do, so much to learn? You are not alone and many people feel the same way. Getting started with internet marketing can be challenging but its not if you compare it to starting a "bricks & mortar" business. Keeping things in perspective is very important.
I met a client of mine this week who is transitioning from a bricks and mortar business to a network marketing business. His target from the network marketing business is to earn about 5k per month in the next few year. My question was this? "Why are you changing? He answered "I have a "successful" business with a turnover of 500k per year. It is very difficult to grow the business, I have spent 7 years getting it to this level, I work 80 hours per week in the business and I have not had an income from the business for the past 9 months - Yes there is turnover but my costs are through the roof - from the outside I look successful but I'm heading for bankruptcy"
The lure of turnover can cause confusion with many people. It took him seven years to get his business to the point where he was still making no real money. That's why internet marketing can be so successful for people - but people are impatient. Most internet marketers want to see money in their Clickbank account the minute it is set up or immediately after they start their first AdWords campaign - that's not how business works - online or offline.
Internet marketers need to understand that they must set up the business properly, they must understand that they do have to put time in research, finding their niche and understanding the basic principles. So many, many people give up on internet marketing before they have really worked hard at firstly understanding it and secondly implementing what they know and then testing and measuring the results. The good thing about internet marketing is that there is a system that you can follow and these systems work.
