Google is the leading search engine in the world and Google AdWords is the top pay per click advertising program available online. Everybody knows what Google is and I'm sure most people have "Googled" something at least once in their lives.
One of the main reasons Google AdWords became so successful was because of the large amounts of cash people were making. People were making money hand over fist and anyone that wanted to make money online, tried to get a piece of the action.
Of course times have changed and money isn't as easily made with AdWords but that doesn't mean you can't anymore. Far from it. All you need to do is take a few important steps and you will be able to cash in on the AdWords money train. Here are a few things that you can do.
Find a Niche
The very first thing that you should do is find a niche to get started in. Not just any niche but one that you are interested in or have experience with. This is not something you have to do but something that I recommend so that you have a head start with your market. Also, being interested in the niche is important because that will keep you motivated to do the things you need to get your website going.
Keywords to Use
Next you will need to find some keywords to target your AdWords ads with. You need keywords that people search with on Google to solve problems in the niche you chose. These keywords need to be highly searched each month so that you will get large numbers of traffic to your site and make it worthwhile to use. You can use the Google external keyword tool to do your research with.
Product to Sell
At this point you will have chosen your niche and found some high monthly searched keywords. Now you will have to find a product to sell, if you don't have one of your own. Go to ClickBank.com, sign up and find a product in your niche that solves your searchers problem and matches the keywords that you are using. When you find one that fits, create an affiliate link that you will end up using in your AdWords ad.
Create Adgroups
Take your keywords and separate them into tightly related keyword groups. This will help to keep your adgroups as targeted as possible which will lead to a better Google quality score and lower cost per click charges. You will then take these adgroups and create different ads for each.
Create Ads
Now it's time to write your ads. Make sure to write separate ads for each adgroup targeting the main keywords for that adgroup. Also make sure that you have 2 different ads for each adgroup going at all times. After you have been getting clicks for a while, you can then compare the 2 ads, keep the better performing ad and replace the ad that is not doing as well with another.
For each adgroup, take the main keywords and include them in your ads headline, body copy and URL. This will make your ads more targeted and will attract the person who has used that keyword to search with, to click on your ad.
Landing Page
You must have a separate landing page for each adgroup and your main keywords for the adgroup must appear on your landing page. Try to include your main keywords in the body copy of your page at a keyword density of around 5%. Also on your landing page you will need to place your affiliate link for your visitor to click on to purchase the product. And since it's your affiliate link that they click on, you will get a commission for the sale.
Track and Test
Last but not least, you need to track and test your ads and landing page to get the most out of your efforts. By tracking what works and doesn't work, you will increase your return on investment.
Word of warning... Google loves your money and has no problem taking it from you if you are not smart with your Google AdWords ads. So take is slow, follow the steps mentioned above and you can make a load of cash with Google too!
