Learn To Advertise Your Website With Google AdWords
By Mike Ong

If you want website to reach out to more people, you can try to advertise your website with Google AdWords.

Google AdWords is a very effective advertising tool. When a user type in some words to search for his/her product, Google will show the advertisement relating to the words the user typed in.

Google AdWords is a good advertising method as you only pay when the user clicks on your advertisement. Google has also taken measures to prevent unfair clicking by a user to make you pay more.

In order to post the ads, you need to get an account first. After that, you can create your ad. Your ad will only be active after you provide them your billing information.

Next, you create a keyword-targeted campaign ad. Under the 'target customer location' column. Set your location to wherever you want. I set my location to be United States. This step is important because your ad will be shown at your defined location; make sure you choose your targeted location correctly.

Next, create a text ad. Fill up your description and your website url. You have to be creative and think of creative descriptions for your advertisement. The description is important, as it can influence a person to click it. Make sure you spend some time to think about a good description.

The next step is a difficult step too; you have to brainstorm on the keywords for your ad. Keywords are what the user type to search for ad. For example, if a user typed in 'learn English', related advertisement of schools teaching English will show up.

Next, set your daily budget to high if you can afford it. The higher your daily budget, the higher your cost-per-click. It may be as high as $5.00 per click. If you have high daily budget, your ad position will be higher. I set my daily budget to be around $50.

You need to set the price for each click, it must be high. This will enable your ad to show up more frequently on higher positions.

I used to set my cost-per-click for $0.10 only, all I am getting is some pathetic views on my ad. The number is pathetic; only about 10 people view my ad daily. After that I increased my bids to $0.70. Then I got about 300 views and 4 clicks to my ad. Increasing your bid will ensure that your keyword will get higher or better position. You need to set a price for the content cost-per-click too and the price needs to be high. Set it as the same price as your default cost-per-click.

Content network search is extremely powerful; I got 18,000 views with it. Make sure you activate the content network search and pay a good price for it. This will allow your ad to be viewed by thousands of people.

Lastly, let your ad run for a few days. Log in to your Google AdWords account frequently and improve on your bids or keywords if your ad is not running well.
