If you are very enthusiastic in using the Internet, you may sometimes notice an advertisement to appear on the side or on top of the web page you visited. These ads are creatively made to attract you to view it. Sometimes you do not know what it is, and oftentimes you will be thinking it is somewhat of a threat to your computer. But this is way different from any pop-up browser that can harm your computer system. It is called a Pay per click ad or PPC.
So what is a PPC?
This term is very much familiar for people who are engaged in Internet business or Web business. This is a type where they can advertise their product and earn instantly. But what does it mean by earning instantly?
Simple, as the term itself implies, a person or advertiser can generate his income once you, a regular user of the Internet, click the ad and view the related website attached to it. It is as simple as letting people around the world "click the ad and I earn."
The PPC advertisement is correctly termed as a sponsored link or sponsored ad. It can appear or be attached to any website, where the advertiser deems that there is a high traffic rate or number of people visiting it.
There is also a so-called PPC provider, that are responsible in allowing these sponsored ads to be attached to a particular website. The most common of these are Yahoo! Search Marketing, Google AdWords, and Microsoft AdCenter.
The cost of a single PPC varies, depending on the search engine and how often users of the net search for a particular keyword of phrase in the net. So for example, the very popular search in the web is about lovebirds, the keyword "love birds" has a high marketing value and PPC providers will usually tagged it at a higher price. That is, if you are an advertiser and wishes to attach your PPC ad at a website, like "lovebirdsfriends.com," expect that your ad will have a good price on every click of a regular user, who is visiting that particular website. The lowest price that a PPC provider can give to a sponsored ad is US$ 0.01 per click, but again, if you're willing to earn as much as you want, you should decide to attach your ad at a website with a higher traffic rate.
There are two categories of PPC. One is called the Sponsored match. This one works by displaying your ad on search engine results page, that is, you can find your ad being put on view on a page right after you click "search" for a particular keyword, and where different websites are being enumerated.
Another type is called the Content match. In this particular category, the ad will be displayed adjacent to the actual or organic webpage, like "lovebirdsfriends.com" or "chocolatechipscookies.com."
These are only the basic things you should be familiar with about PPC's. It pays to take this one on your notes, especially if you are deciding to earn money on line. You can also visit some websites that gives further tutorial on how to use PPC and other stuffs for online commerce.
