1) Too many new internet marketers find it too hard to do the critical market research needed to identify profitable products to sell or promote. As a result 99.4% of these marketers will spend an average of $620, going from program to program in an attempt to develop a successful and cheap launch formula. But here is the kicker, they have already spent hundreds on an assortment of various products offering the magic bullet but only delivering somewhat useful information.
I used to follow this same path until I discovered the following four clues to a successful Internet Marketing career. Ok, what do 95% of IM Gurus (who should know better tell you) try to identify a niche that you love but it must also be marketable?
This approach will only work for the fortunate 5% of us and for the vast majority the amount of work involved for people not yet skilled in this process is well incredible and frustrating Back in 2004 this process took me 8 months until, I just said to hell with this approach.
No the key here is...
''Jump in front of the money'' i.e Find an existing stream of money (where marketers are making money) create products for that market. If you were lost in the middle of the Sahara dessert and hadn't had a drink of water for 3 days... and I offered you a cup of water for $100, would you not buy it straight away? You wouldn't ask me about the various qualities of the water and seek out competing brands to compare it against would you?
2) Keyword Research can be such a pain that many new and not so new marketers simply out source this or don't do it at all or do it incorrectly... result failure and frustration But following on from niche identification/market research this step in product positioning will determine the success or failure of your product.
There are many freely available tools from e.g Google that will help you to quickly identify profitable keywords. The key here is profitable, that is keywords that buyers, not freebie tire kickers are searching for related to your chosen niche.
3) If you have bought PLR content. How do you quickly make it your own at little cost?
This is a crucial point as so many find it much easier to launch their IM careers that way but not surprisingly they fail to brand effectively. Potential customers quickly realize that this is a commodity product and not unique to this seller.
Product Launch and Evaluation:
4) This is where you have to exercise the ruthlessness that all successful business people do... is this product a winner or a loser...
This is where the rubber hits the road The key here is that if you are going to be successful, you must never become 'married' to your product. Within a week of the product being ready for sale you should know whether to shelve it and move on to the next or persevere with it... done correctly, you will have numerical evidence to base your judgement upon... and the numbers don't lie.
Remember: Cut your losers short very quickly and grow your winners. Never get married to any product.
