In the internet marketing world, your name is your brand. People will not remember a name like "moneymaker1234", they will remember a real first name and surname.

Not just that, but if you establish a name for yourself then people will remember you. Maybe you have heard of some big names such as John Reese, Frank Kern or Willie Crawford? You may even remember their photos? So you can see how building their brand has been an advantage for their business.

People Trust A Real Name More

Even outside of the internet marketing niche, it is worth using a name. For instance, there is a well known internet marketer who uses a different name in one of his niches, the dog training niche. People prefer to buy from what they know is a real person. If you use a name like dogtrainer88 then people wonder whether you are really an expert, or perhaps you could even be a con artist?

Why A Pen Name Is A Good Idea

You may want to use a pen name instead. There are people who use their real name and because they operate their business from home, people have been able to look them up and even turn up at their house! If you use a pen name then you can avoid people identifying you. Using a pen name is a common practice in the marketing world.
