When marketing a product online, there's no point trying to sell 100 products at once if they're all sub-standard. The biggest mistake I made when beginning my online marketing and business journey was trying to market too many products at once and associating myself with products that not many people were selling so that I'd have less competition. It didn't take me long to figure out the reason nobody was selling them was because they had no value at all.
If you want to sell a product that is of a lower standard but makes you a higher affiliate commission, then this is how your sales portals like your blog, website or community site will be perceived by buyers; of a lower standard than other sites out there. This may get you sales in the short-term, but will do absolutely nothing for you in the long run.
The easy method I have to judge if the product is of high quality or not is that I ask myself, "Would I recommend this to my mother?" If the answer is no, then I simply don't market it.
Through the website you are using to market the products you're selling, you want to build a reputation of believability and trustworthiness about it so you can encourage people to return to the site and click on your affiliate links again. Once you burn someone with a crap product, chances are you'll never see them again.
So if you're unsure about whether a product is of high-quality or not, just use what I call the 'Mother-Method', it always sorts the wheat from the chaff.
