Internet Marketing Tips - Are Traffic Tester Programs Worth It?
By Steven Wagenheim

Many marketers aren't aware of this, but there are programs out there that actually test sources of traffic and let you know if the source is any good or not. I often get asked if these programs are worth joining. Well, there is no easy answer to that, which I will shortly explain. They all have their pluses and minuses. If you're looking for perfection, you won't find it in a traffic tester program. But they can be useful if you understand how they work and what you can expect to get out of them.

The basic way a traffic tester program works is as such. The program will seek out a form of promotion on the Internet, test it out to see how much traffic it gets from it and how well that traffic converts into sales. The program will then report its findings back to the members. It's not a bad little racket and it is a useful service as long as you understand the limitations and pitfalls.

For starters, the traffic tester program itself is testing these sources with THEIR own product. In most cases, the product is the company itself, testing traffic. Now, if you're promoting something in a non IM related niche, their results are probably not going to be representative of the kind of results you can expect to get simply because the traffic isn't targeted the same. People interested or not interested in traffic testing may or may not be interested in what YOU are selling. So the results are only so helpful.

Another problem that I found with traffic tester programs is that most of the traffic generation methods that they test end up to be poor. So you're basically paying for a service to tell you what DOESN'T work. I don't know about you but I'm more concerned with finding out what DOES work. Sure, it's nice to know what not to waste my money on, but if the service doesn't give me anything that I can use, its benefits are only going to be of limited use to me.

My suggestion would be to try out these programs for a month and see what use you get out of them. If you find they are helpful, continue with the service. If not, cancel your membership. I have personally not found any that were worth more than a month or two of membership.

But that's just me.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim
