It's not hard to find people calling themselves an internet marketing expert, but calling yourself one does not necessarily make you one, so it's worthwhile taking a look at what a proper expert should be able to offer...
When people buy products about how to market online, the products often say 'don't go into the internet marketing field, it's too full'. The temptation is too much for most readers though, and one after the other they launch themselves as internet marketing gurus, with no actual experience of doing it themselves.
They are just rehashing what they've read.
Some of what they've read might be good information, but it's the actual doing of it which brings experience and therefore real expertise. Of course some of the information they've read will be rubbish, and will still be worthless when coming from someone else.
So what do you need to look for?
Well, you want someone who can show they have knowledge from their own resources. It may be technological skill, handling the various processes needed. It may be experience of setting up different sites. As long as they can show that they are not just repeating what someone else says.
They also need to have some sort of contact detail, and background about themselves. A real expert will have no worries about telling all about themselves, and wanting you to ask them questions if you have any.
Another tip to look for is someone who will provide focus.
One of the problems with making money online is that there are a lot of ways to do it, and it's very easy to get pulled from one to another - you need to focus, and a decent teacher will know this and include it in their product.
So to sum up, don't go with the first one you come across, do some research and it will be worthwhile as you'll end up with a *real* internet marketing expert.
