Ever play the games of Chess, Risk, or Go? If you have, you have no doubt learned that a good strategy often wins the game more than mere luck. And with this strategy you must always be thinking two to three moves ahead, yet be flexible when something doesn't go the way you expected it to.
Yet, for many of us we treat our online businesses as if we are hoping to get lucky. Several people start off with making a project to sell, either on their own page or as a Warrior special offer, yet there are no plans to continue the product into other complementary ones. Nor is there any list building involved. All the beginner wants is to make a quick buck.
I should know - I did the very same thing when I was starting out.
The Danger Of Having No Strategy
If you even want to have a prayer of owning a real business that eventually has your money working for you (instead of you always working for your hard-earned money), then you must know the steps of strategic Internet marketing plan development.
If you have no strategic plan developed for the future of your business, you are doomed to fail at the start. Back to the game analogy, you need to think two to three products ahead. For example, if you're offering a book on a new Internet marketing technique, then think of two complementary follow-ups to this product, such as using autoresponders to increase the efficiency of this new technique.
And if the first product turns out to be a total flop, let the product go and start working on a new one immediately - if you wait for another good product idea to come along, your competition will beat you to it.
Take Time To Write It Out
So, with strategic Internet marketing plan development, sit down and brainstorm what product you wish to offer, what follow-up products you'll create, and then think of at least two more separate products you could make in case the first one flops. Also, write the entire plan down on paper - doing so makes you more accountable, as well as makes the products feel more real than ever before.
Then, after you've written everything down and laid out your plan, take massive and immediate action. Create your product and get it out on the Warrior Forum. Also, after it goes live as a WSO, if it appears you have even the signs of a true winner, sit down and start a plan on who you will offer it to, away from the forum.
This would include creation of a mini-site, sales graphics (if needed), squeeze page (optional, but recommended), traffic generation, and writing of the copy. Then, once the site goes live, concentrate on planning on increasing traffic and conversion through testing.
Follow this simple advice, and watch your business soar to new heights.
