Article marketing as a means of web site promotion has been in existence for quite some time now. The reason this method has not faded away is because article marketing works and works very well when implemented properly. The only people that put down the technique as a thing of the past or as something that does not produce tangible results are those that are going about it in an incorrect manner. After all, if article marketing does not work, then why do so many people resort to this method even today. Many article marketing folks take up the task of writing with the sole purpose of gaining backlinks to their site. They write articles with substandard content at best and useless content for the most part and wonder why traffic to their site has not increased. Human visitors go to search engines to search for articles and sites that can provide useful information on the subject of their interest. When they find an article that matches their query, they go about reading it. If it happens to be an article that an article marketer wrote, then unless the article perks their interest, they are not going to go any further and are liable to simply click away. That is the main reason why the article needs to be of a high quality. Sure it takes time to put together a well thought out and well written article, but that is what will produce positive results. Assembling an article that is full of grammatical errors and improper language usages and meaningless information reflects poorly on the author of the article and visitors usually get turned off by such presentations. Note that when you count on the article that you have submitted to a directory to be the gateway to your site, you need to pay careful attention to all the details so visitors are enticed to come to your site or blog. This is the equivalent of keeping the front yard nice and clean when you expect visitors to your home. A badly maintained front yard reflects poorly on the residents inside just like an article written with substandard content reflects poorly on the site it is supposed to attract visitors to.
