Email Marketing - How to Make Your Mailing List Subscribers Believe in You
By Peter Garety

If you are planning on using email marketing as part of your strategies to promote your online business, you need to know that the success of your email marketing campaign will depend greatly on how you can convince the subscribers in your mailing list to believe in you. Believability is a huge premium in the online marketplace. Customers are smarter these days, and they have access to instant information right at their fingertips. Most customers nowadays will not buy a product from someone they do not know nor trust. This is why if you are going to push your products and services through email marketing, you have to make yourself believable to your subscribers. Here are three tips that can help you create that believability.

1. Make some personal information about you available online. Your subscribers will want to know who you are. More importantly, they will be seeking reasons as to why they should believe in you and why they should buy whatever it is you are selling. Searching for your name on Google will probably be the first thing they will do when they hear of you. This is easy to deal with. All you need to do is to make some of your personal information available online. You can put up a personal website or blog, or open a personal Facebook or Twitter account. With almost everything being anonymous on the Internet, it gives your customers comfort that they know the face of the person from whom they are buying. You do not have to share every single bit of information online, of course. Just choose to reveal only what you want to reveal.

2. Talk like you know what you are talking about. When you are selling something, you need to seem like you are an expert on whatever product you are selling. So, do your research about the product and about the niche. Buy the product yourself and use it if you must. It is hard to fake passion and expertise on anything, and it will be easy for people to sniff you out if you are faking it.

3. Connect with your subscribers. There are faces behind those email addresses in your list. Many of them will think that they have better things to do other than read the newsletter you send them. You need to convince these people that your newsletter is worth reading and that reading it will give them something that will enrich their lives later on. Giving value before trying to make any hard-selling is the name of the game in email marketing.

Believability is important when you promote your products through email marketing, or through any form of marketing. You need to let your customers put a face to a name, as well as give them a reason to believe you. You also have to give value first before you can win their trust and belief in you.
