Putting together an email marketing campaign consist of a lot more than just having the right tools. Yes you will need certain things like sending out bulk mail and keeping track of lists, but you will need other materials as well. Doing your niche research is important. You want to find out what types of products people are expressing an interest in so that you can narrow it done to a certain type of product within that niche.

Sales Page

Your sales page is one of the most vital to an email marketing campaign. This is the letter you will be sending out to your lists and in it you are going to be giving your best sales pitch. If you are not a good salesman you might want to consider getting this done by someone who is. You want someone who can explain your product in a way that makes people want to buy your product from you. You will also want to set up auto responders and thank you letter too, though these do not have to be as much professional as sincere.

Targeted Buyers

Speaking of lists, you are going to want a list of targeted buyers. Some places will allow you to specify which products you want your list to show an interest in. Be aware that not all of them will, but you should really look for people with an expressed interest in your niche already. These people are often more likely to actually read your material and visit your site. They are also more likely to buy the product once they get there. Targeted lists are a must for an effective email marketing campaign.

Products

Variety is another thing to consider. You might not want to tie yourself down to just one product, but instead offer two or three similar products. This means that you can use your list more than once or even twice promoting the same types of products. Promoting consumable products is another smart idea for an email marketing campaign. If you are selling face cream that lasts about a month, you can use your list to send out monthly letters reminding people of your site or even advertising new products along the same lines or company as the one they have already purchased. This is likely to keep your sales up and eventually set you up with a steady income from return customers that are reminded about your site.
