Effective Email Marketing Campaign
By Lynne Jones

Email marketing is a very effective form of advertising. It should definitely be considered as part of your overall marketing plan. It can be crucial to your success as an Internet Marketer. It is also important if you have a 'brick and mortar' store. The business owner who uses solid email marketing techniques to construct an effective email marketing campaign will likely have an advantage over the owner who feels it's too much trouble.

You do not want your email advertising to be looked at as spam. Spam is unwanted, unsolicited emails. To avoid this, make sure you have a good email list. Remember, people have to specifically give you permission to send them emails or other additional information. Build your list of previous and potential customers who requested additional information. Because it can sometimes take up to seven contacts before a person becomes a customer, sending out emails will start to create a bond with prospective customers and rejuvenate current customers.

You need to decide on the type of information you are going to send. One way to make it clear that you're not spamming is to make sure you send something informative to your potential and current customers. There's nothing more irritating than reading junk mail. Besides sending advertisements or discounts for your own products, you can send articles or links to other websites of interest. Entice your readers by giving them a blurb about a topic of interest and then direct them to your website for further information. This is what a good email marketing campaign should do.

How will your email marketing campaign deliver the information? Will you send an informative email or go all out and create a newsletter? If you create a newsletter make an effort to make it attractive. The more people who read it, the higher the chance of them getting back to your website. The type of distribution you decide on will determine what type of help you need to get it going. You might want to enlist the help of a professional writer to get good, interesting content and perhaps a graphic designer to layout your newsletter and make it appealing.

After you send out your first email, sit back and give it some time to work. The last thing people want to feel is that they are being sold to. Sometimes it may take awhile for it to work. If you send out discounts, you should set an expiration date so that people are called to action. Evaluate each step of your email marketing campaign before moving on. Ask for feedback, find out why new and old customers are coming to your products, was it from the email or something else. Make some changes the next time around and see if things get better. Keep in mind that it takes seven times before a person becomes a customer. Work on building a relationship. You'll keep them as customers longer.

Email marketing is a crucial part of successful Internet Marketing. Find ways to create effective email marketing campaigns. Learn from other successful internet marketers who want to help.
