In these modern times where the use of the Internet is unstoppable, one of the most utilized tool is the e -mail or the electronic mail. Through emails, one is never denied of communication and data transfer. It also offers a chat tool wherein one can send mails and chat with on - line friends at the same time. In short, one can save time when doing this through the Internet.
But while it may be true that the e - mail is a very good way of transmitting information and connecting with friends or family who has been away for such a time being, it also carries with it some risks by the mere fact of using it. Among these risks is the spam or bulk of mail messages going into one's inbox containing any forms of invitations to a network or to be a part of a market. The recipient of these mail messages could not even recall clicking on these links to have received all these mails which usually accumulate in the inbox and eat up the space for your important mails.
Most of these mails sent to ones' inbox which contains promotions on products or invitations to a network which assures any recipient of money - making techniques, these refer to e - mail marketing. As compared to that of a spam, e - mail marketing is legitimate in nature than the former. It efforts to get the recipients' consent to receive an email regarding any product promotions or invitations and usually provides for an option on whether the recipient would want to be a subscriber of an issue and when should he or she wants to receive an email from these companies promoting products.
A spam mail on the other hand is in general, a junk mail or a stray mail which goes directly into one's inbox almost everyday until such time it accumulates and eat up the space for one's precious mails. It contains just like that of an e - mail market mail but it doesn't prompt somebody, it just goes directly into the inbox. What is more risky is that, when somebody got curious with these mails like that of a lottery price winner or free products mail and clicked on the link given, it automatically brings the recipient to its own home website which usually is a suspicious site. A suspicious site is that which contains a software that automatically delves into someone's computer eating it's software in trying to find permission to be applicable, thus, there is what we call viruses in computers.
While e - marketing is very useful especially to companies, in trying to provide for information regarding a product or promotions, it does not assure of an absolute risk - free environment for one's mail and computer. Although e - mail marketing is one of the most effective ways of introducing to the world what is new and latest, yet it may also introduce someone to risks. Nevertheless, there are some ways of guarding your mails though, that is through emptying spam mails from time to time and turning on the level of security in one's computer and scanning it from time to time for possible viruses.
